China holiday: shipping pauses 1–7 October

Our suppliers and freight partners in China are closed from Thursday 1 October through Wednesday 7 October for the national holiday — the week known in the trade as Golden Week. Factories, forwarders and customs all stop, so nothing moves during that window.

What this means for your order

Orders placed on or after 1 October will not ship until after the 7th. Orders placed before 1 October ship as normal, subject to stock.

You can keep ordering throughout. Nothing is lost or cancelled — fulfilment simply resumes once our partners reopen on 8 October.

Freight timings

Sea freight: port and customs throughput drops off before the holiday and clears slowly afterwards, so allow a few extra days on top of the usual 30–45 day window for any October sailing.

Air upgrade: the same pause applies. The 7–10 day window restarts once freight resumes rather than running through the closure.

If you are planning an October restock

Ordering before 1 October avoids the delay entirely. If your timing is tight, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether it can clear before the shutdown.
